Diplomatic Visa Exemption for Vietnam and Uzbekistan


Vietnamese Consulate, Foreign Affair published this announcement after Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Uzbekistan Republic signed Agreement on Diplomatic Visa Exemption at Tashkent, Uzbekistan on the 5th, April, 2010. Since this Agreement come into force, Vietnamese and Uzbekistan Nationality hold Diplomatic visa will be exempted entry, exist and transit visa between territories. At the same time, staying time for these people is not more than 60 days.

An agreement on visa exemption for diplomatic passport holders between the governments of Vietnam and Uzbekistan will take effect on June 4, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Consular Department has announced. Under the agreement, inked in Uzbekistan’s capital city of Tashkent on April 5, citizens holding valid diplomatic passports from one of the two countries needing entry, exit and transit in the other’s territory will be exempt from visas and are allowed to stay in each country within 60 days.

Since June 4, 2010 Vietnamese and Uzbekistani citizens holding diplomatic passports will be exempted from visa requirements to enter territories of the another.

The visa exemption is granted under an agreement signed by the two governments on April 5 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, said the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Consular Department. Accordingly, citizens from one of the two countries holding valid diplomatic passports will be allowed to stay in the other country within 60 days.
